Pacific Union Crisis: Express Yourself and Lift Up the Hands of Moses and AaronWhile Pacific Union has acted, voting to accept non-ordained individuals in its Presidency if such should be voted, and thus placed themselves in direct opposition to our world church which mandates that only ordained ministers shall serve in this leadership capacity, our leadership in the North American Division and the General Conference have not yet expressed themselves publically on the matter. They are weighing many things. They are being told by Pacific Union that this is but a policy matter and that there should be no reaction. They are being told that the matter is mostly theoretical because no woman has been elected to such a leadership position. They are being told, in fact, that there is nothing they can do anyway! They are wondering whether the cost of invalidating the action of the Pacific Union is too high for too little return. They are weighing all these matters and formatting a decision. Now is the time when you can express your support to them. They have yet to speak publically. Their options remain open. Once they have expressed themselves whichever way it will be almost impossible for them to retreat from their statement. Thus, now is a time for you to express your concern to them and urge them to respond by stating that they do not accept the decision of the Pacific Union. The strength of Israel is being tested. You are urged to consider the matter and its implications, and prayerfully seek whether you might express yourself to them. You do not know how much your voice counts. I was told by one who knows, that "if even 50 people spoke up it would be a groundswell!" I know for a fact that already, many have spoken up. Will you? Below find contact information for Pacific Union, North American Division, and the General Conference. Consider starting with the North American Division, then speaking to the General Conference after that. Since time is of the essence, use your telephone. Again, keep also in mind that you will probably not be able to get through to anyone until Monday morning. You may also wish to contact your local Conference leadership and express your concern that something must be done. Your pastor can provide you with the phone number of your Conference leadership. Pray before you act. Be clear and to the point. Thank them for listening. Hold them up in prayer. God's will be done.
