For Those New to This Site...
Welcome to the Great Controversy Site. Our motivation for it is to provide a positive place on the web for those desiring to live and give the third angel's message of Revelation 14. We pursue this goal in harmony with the authentic testimony of the Adventist pioneers. In our day, just as in theirs, we may experience the marked guidance of God. We know from both our personal evaluation of Scripture evidence and from our own experience, that Jesus is in this movement. Furthermore, We know that the end is not yet--that He has a most remarkable work yet to do--by means of His grace--through us. We must stand with Him to hasten that day! This site is designed everyone--Seventh-day Adventist and non-Adventist alike. To assist non-SDAs in gaining a rapid understanding of what we are all about, several helps have been provided. We hope to to provide you with a concise introduction to what millions of Jesus' followers around the globe believe to be His last message of mercy to the world. We pray that you will search the Scriptures to see whether these things are so, and join with us in Holy Spirit-empowered action to live-out heaven's end-time agenda. In these last days God purposes to produce followers of Jesus who are willing to go with Him wherever He goes. When we cooperate with Him, He takes us into covenant relation with Himself, writing His law upon our hearts and minds and leading us to victory. Revelation 14:4. GreatControversy.org is a modest, self-funded missionary project intent upon building one another up in the most holy faith, as well as bringing God's final loving message of warning to those at risk of worshiping another Christ than the one presented in the Bible. We recognize something of the intensity of the hour in which we live. We know that the following prophetic statement is in fulfillment: "God's Spirit has illuminated every page of Holy Writ, but there are those upon whom it makes little impression, because it is imperfectly understood. When the shaking comes, by the introduction of false theories, these surface readers, anchored nowhere, are like shifting sand. They slide into any position to suite the tenor of their feelings of bitterness." Ellen G. White, Testimonies to Ministers, p. 112. In the vitriolic anti-SDA and anti-Ellen White attack-sites presently on the web, a graphic manifestation of this tragic bitterness is evident. Seemingly, it is not usually enough for those who have fallen away simply to move on. No, there remains an anger, a hatred of the true Jesus and of His commandments and Biblical end-time agenda, that for the rebel poisons the life, and leaves one unstill unless he bites back at God. All this was described a century ago when this prediction was written: "As the storm approaches, a large class who have professed faith in the third angel's message, but have not been sanctified through obedience to the truth, abandon their position and join the ranks of the opposition. By uniting with the world and partaking of its spirit, they have come to view matters in nearly the same light; and when the test is brought, they are prepared to choose the easy popular side. Men of talent and pleasing address, who once rejoiced in the truth, employ their powers to deceive and mislead souls. They become the most bitter enemies of their former brethren." Ellen G. White, Great Controversy, p. 608. Although the test has not come to its fullness, it is evident that the storm is approaching, and that there are those bent upon fighting God. We hope that this modest site will make a contribution in the opposite direction, strengthening the faith, building up newer Adventists, and leading those who visit here into a fresh experience with their Maker.
