GCO Focus: Questions on Doctrine RepublishedIn 2003 the book Questions on Doctrine was republished—not by the Seventh-day Adventist Church in a formal way, but through a non-official press. The republishing of this theological relic, this book which represents a theological watershed unequalled in Adventist history, is a dark day in our history as a people. Nevertheless, the book itself stands almost wholly discredited today. While large portions of the book are sound, critical areas on the atonement and the nature of Christ and how salvation itself works, are very deeply flawed. We have not finished with this topic. We plan by mid-April to publish an extensive piece by Kevin Paulson on it, and Larry Kirkpatirck has a piece in mid-preparation titled “Slanting the Atonement: How Questions on Doctrine's ‘Appendix C: The Atonement’ Bent the Evidence in Order to Introduce a Different View.” Other work will also likely be published, although some items may come later in 2004 than sooner. —26 Dec 2003: New Era Opens for Nature of Christ in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, by Larry Kirkpatrick —11 Dec 2003: The Spurned Suitor Returns, by Larry Kirkpatrick —4 Dec 2003: Original Sin in Prepublication Draft of Questions on Doctrine.
